This guide gathers the best souvenir shops in Valencia, the ones selling genuinely local goods: from collectible ceramics to rare regional spirits and well-made design objects.
1. Artesanía Yuste: family tradition and the soul of ceramics
If your aim is to take home a piece of real history, head for the Artesanía Yuste workshop. Valencia has centuries-old traditions of making tiles and ceramic tableware, with roots in the Moorish era. The shop specialises in historical reproductions of the 15th to 17th centuries, including the rare and demanding «socarrat» firing technique.
What to buy: traditional hand-painted ceramics, authentic decorative tiles, painted plates.
What makes it special: a remarkable continuity — the mother paints all the artwork and patterns, while her son runs the shop.

2. Original CV: local wines and craft chocolate
Original CV is a concept space created to promote and protect the gastronomic heritage of the Valencian Community. The flagship store sits directly opposite the Central Market, in a beautiful historic building with a carved wooden ceiling, on the site of an old pharmacy.
What to buy: local wines, especially from the native bobal grape, traditional Valencian chocolate by Utopick — with almonds or chilli, extra virgin olive oil and premium bomba or senia rice for paella.
What makes it special: a strict focus on quality, no mass-market trinkets, only carefully selected local products.

3. L’ham del Mercat: paradise for vermouth and rare spirits
This characterful shop in the heart of the old town is run by a true Valencian, devoted to his city and region. You will find no polish or fashionable gloss here: people come for warmth, honest prices and a genuinely expert selection. Fernando does not speak English, but his daughter or son is often around. Talk to them, show your interest, and they will gladly let you taste the local drinks.
What to buy: artisan ceramics and a bottle of rare local spirits.
What makes it special: the best vermouth selection in the city, more than two hundred labels, and a rare collection of fondillón — the legendary royal wine from Alicante, which I describe in my guide to Valencian drinks. One more detail: this is where you find the lustreware ceramics of the world-renowned master Arturo Mora from Manises, whose work is held in the Prado Museum collection.

4. Simple: Spanish minimalism and timeless design
Simple is an ode to authentic Spanish design and to everyday objects that local makers have been producing for decades. The philosophy rests on things «from the past» that fit a modern interior perfectly and never go out of fashion.
What to buy: handwoven baskets, traditional espadrilles, minimalist home textiles, natural soap and ceramic tableware.
What makes it special: the shop refuses to sell disposable souvenirs. Every object has a history, is made of natural materials — wool, leather, wood, clay — and is produced in Spain.

TROBAR sits in the historic seaside quarter of Cabanyal. Its founders deliberately avoid the clichéd word «souvenir», offering instead a idea of mindful buying and support for independent local authors.
What to buy: maritime decor, vintage finds, design books about Valencia, artisan jewellery and craft delicacies.
