Why me

Not a guidebook recital,
but a conversation about the city

Licensed I am an official guide with a professional qualification. That means we skip the queues at the cathedral and the churches, and pay less at the door.
Valencia expert I have lived here for years. I know where the best paella is, which souvenirs are worth buying and how to feel the real Valencia.
Philologist I trained as a philologist and worked as a teacher. I speak plainly and explain complicated things simply.

About me

My name is Alexandra

I have lived in Valencia since 2019. My walks are unhurried: we set a comfortable pace, never rush and explore the city from the inside — stepping into its most beautiful buildings, hidden courtyards and craft workshops.

I trained as a philologist and worked as a teacher. That experience helps me talk about Valencia in clear language and explain even the most tangled historical stories simply. My tours are not a lecture but a conversation between curious people.

Here in Valencia I earned a tourism qualification and a guide licence. Thanks to it we can visit many landmarks, the cathedral among them, without queueing and at a large discount.

Culture and food go together easily on my walks. We might study the Gothic symbols on the Silk Exchange and then move on to the Central Market to carry on getting to know the city over a glass of cava and fresh oysters.

My aim is that history, tradition and food come together into one clear picture for you — and that the time flies by.

What people say afterwards

«Alexandra is a perfect guide. Her narrative is well-structured and well-paced — captivating and thought-provoking from beginning to end. We had a three-hour tour on our first day in Valencia, but we couldn't get enough and asked for a continuation the following day. We are already looking forward to taking more tours with Alexandra on our next visit to Valencia.»

«We had a wonderful tour around Valencia with Alexandra. She conducted the tour in both English and Russian, which was very helpful. She was extremely thorough and engaging, providing fascinating insights into the history, society, and everyday Spanish way of life. She brought an iPad with historic pictures, which really helped bring the stories and places to life. She also gave excellent recommendations for the best places to visit, restaurants to try, and where to buy souvenirs.»

«We had an excellent tour with Alexandra in Valencia! We booked a Modernism-themed excursion and it exceeded our expectations. We discovered new details about the Central Market, and the part about Estación del Norte was especially fascinating. I realized that I hadn't noticed some of the details on the facade of Mercado Colón before the excursion. Alexandra has deep knowledge and presents it in a very engaging way.»

Frequently asked

What people usually ask

For the whole group of up to six people. If there are more of you, write to me and we will work something out. Entrance tickets are paid separately and cost little: the cathedral, for example, is 5 € per person.

Every route is on foot and goes at a pace that suits you. We stop, sit down, have a coffee or a horchata. It is a walk, not a march: distances in the historic centre of Valencia are short.

There is a separate family programme for children aged 7 to 12, “Little Heroes of a Big City”, with a storyline, animals to spot on the façades and a stop for ice cream. Children are welcome on the other routes too — just tell me in advance and I will adapt the pace and the content.

A week ahead is ideal: then I can pick the day and the time so that everything on the route is open and we see as much as possible. Sometimes same-day works too — just ask, there may be a slot.

In English and in Russian. I have lived in Valencia since 2019 and studied tourism here, so the local detail and context come first-hand rather than from a translated guidebook.

Rain is rare in Valencia, but we can always shift the emphasis: the cathedral, the Silk Exchange, the Central Market, museums and pastry shops are all under a roof. If the weather really will not allow it, we move the walk to another day at no cost.

Cash, or by Bizum transfer if you are in Spain.
